I seem to have acquired a lot of stalkers over the past few months to the point where I've become quite a master in detecting them; even finding out, with a bit of investigation, who they actually are; hiding in the shadows behind their fake online profiles. Let me share my stalker knowledge.
Let’s start with the Facebook stalkers.
Question : Why do you keep the Imessage requests?
Answer: I keep them as firstly I find it amusing that someone has gone to all this trouble to stalk me and secondly, if they get out of hand and send me too many I'll just call in the Feds. Win/Win.
Let's move on:-
I personally choose now not to block anyone from Facebook as, in my opinion, it shows the stalker you are bothered and quite frankly I'm not. I find it highly entertaining these people want to stalk me in the first place and on every occasion, bar none, when I discover who the stalker is in real life, it's very amusing.
Obviously, once the stalker finds out you know who they are, I can guarantee they will deactivate their false Facebook account immediately. However, be warned it will only be a matter of days before a new one is made. I’ve been stalked on Facebook recently by the same girl under three different fake Facebook accounts and when I’ve found her out, she deletes the fake profile page and makes up another one and so the patterns continue. Sad but true.
It must be quite frustrating for a Facebook stalker trying to nosey into my Facebook profile as I have acquired all the above techniques over the past few months to stop them ever knowing anything I do. Beaks out please!!
However, stalkers do your best and I wish you luck but you won't get anywhere with me; but try as I love a challenge.
Let's move onto Twitter.
Twitter is more difficult as I choose to Tweet publicly. Again, this is mainly because I personally don’t see the point in Tweeting privately and I'm generally happy for anyone to follow me until they say something I find inappropriate, then I just block them. Simple as, end of.
Of course, public tweeting does leave you wide open to stalkers but I can generally detect a false Twitter account and simply just block it.
The five recent false Twitter accounts who started following me and something to look out for were:-
A little Twitter tip, if you click on the person's twitter name it will show you the time and date the account was created. One stalker had created two accounts within ten minutes of each other and I got two messages in my message accept email from both accounts within an hour of the account being created. Total school girl error on her part.
My advice, spot them, block them and don't even think about them.
Again, just like Facebook, I get daily messages that I can either accept or not and once more I have an inbox full of a variety of messages I've not accepted, the majority of which are from men who think Twitter is a dating site not a social media platform for tweeting. Goodbye, no response needed!
I would also say 90% of my followers on Twitter I don’t know and due to the fact my profile is anonymous this doesn’t bother me. Why? Due to the fact I love my Twitter Family. There's some really cool and funny people who I follow and I have a daily banter with. Why should some crazy stalker stop that for me. Well, they don't and they won't. End of!
What can be slightly unnerving however is that although I am anonymous on Twitter; the stalkers always seem to find out it’s me. They have clearly done some extensive background research to find me. I would personally say this is on the verge of obsessive. Get a Life!!
My attitude nowadays to all this online stalking is, sorry to say, I find it very entertaining. The fact that people find my life so interesting they feel the need to hide behind fake profiles to try to find out what I’m doing totally amuses me.
Maybe, that's the problem? Maybe the fact I don’t care annoys the stalkers who want a rise out of me or some kind of reaction and they’re just not getting it and that bothers them. Who knows and who cares? I definitely don't.
To clarify though the reason they’re not getting any reaction from me is quite simply I really can’t be bothered. I have better things to do with my life so I just block or ignore and carry on doing what I want, when I want and if I want. It's as simple as that.
The only time I would ever let any kind of stalking turn me into a Lunatic, Harley Quinn, Psycho Bitch from Hell was if it was even remotely directed towards my children … and that would be another story.
This song below is dedicated to all my stalkers. Thanks, I've enjoyed writing about you. Enjoy.
