This review is short and sweet and I shake my head as I write this.
Love ABO in Leeds. It’s classy and sassy, Millennium Square and Greek Street. Recommend.
It will be popular for six months. Then the typical Harrogate people will move onto the next opening. Do they know Gino D'Acampo or whatever his name is, has taken over Restaurant Bar & Grill. It's the new celebrity restaurant. Harrogate people love this.
ABO are trying far too hard. 20 staff behind the bar but not one of them serving you. When they did, £7.25 for a glass of wine. Sorry, are we in London or back in Paris? The next glass was £8.20 and the waitress assured me it was house wine. Don’t think it was?
You will not see me go there again. Music far too loud for early doors, trying too hard to impress and totally overpriced for what it is.
The staff were inexperienced and that’s fine, we all need training but do not put a bar in Harrogate without competent staff. I felt sorry for them. They’d been employed by a chain bar and had no clue what they were doing.
I appreciate bars put their prices up because it’s Harrogate, but believe me as a Harrogate girl, unless you lower the music, decrease your prices you will last six months max.
Knowing Harrogate like I do I think you’re a totally overpriced bar, with totally overpriced food.
Six months in this town. Max.
